School Story

My best High School memory is watching the wrestling team win the State Championship held at MSC. I don't think anything could match our excitement as when the over-matched Rudnik pinned three-time state champion Leopold to clinch the Scarlet victory.

Leaving Mankato after a great reunion. Thursday night was electric, everyone excited at seeing classmates they hadn't seen in years. Friday we visited the cemetery and a realization crept in that I might never return to the place I was raised and my family is buried.
We shared this weekend a moment in time that can never be recreated. If I came back next week, everyone would be scattered to far ends of the country. I could walk the streets and know no one, save a few classmates who live in Mankato , but who have returned to their
normal routines.
So it's a mixture of nostalgia, sadness and elation that I'm left with. Hope we have a 55th and 60th, and hope I'm around and able to enjoy them. Hope you all are too. Thanks to all the people who worked so hard to make it possible.

I taught environmental science classes for 30 years. I always told my students that Nature Conservancy was the best organization going. They didn't litigate or lobby, they just bought and preserved. What a meaningful career you had!

you were always high energy in high school, so I'm not surprised you accomplished so much and have so many interests. Look forward to seeing you
