Bob was a good friend in high school - I'm so glad I was able to see him several years later and then talk to him again shortly before he passed. It's still hard to believe he's gone.

Ron,

I was with Bob during his last days and in fact held his hand during his final moments at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls.  We reminisced of friends and days gone past until the the hospital staff delivered his evening meal in a styrafoam container which consisted of cooked spinach, something resembling meat and a sort of jello dessert.  Bob asked me what the meal was and I said, "Wow, looks good", Bob looked at the contents of the container and said, "If you think that looks good...you eat it...and then go get me a baconater at Hardee's"...  So I did...  Bob and I shared that morsel and memories of family and friends to his last breath.

What a wonderful friend, Tom! Great story. We are there for our high school friends.

I, too have fond memories of Bob.  Tom's wonderful story about bringing him a baconator in the hospital really captures the essence of Bob for me.  He lived life to the fullest and never did anything half way.  I am so grateful that I got to speak with him near the end and say goodbye.

Great guard in football. He could really open holes in their defense which was appreciated as a running back/Fullback. I saw him at a reunion in a wheelchair years ago. Only problem was he was still puffing away like I was on those damn cigarettesi!! Good man!He will be missed.

Bob was a great guy and a good friend who always made me think of Lee Marvin. He was that kind of guy. Many good memories there.

Immensely saddened to hear of Bob's passing.  My last memory of him was at the 25th reunion.  This stocky, square-shaped fellow with a wide grin eminating from behind a big bushy beard came up to me and said "Hey Al".  He could see the dumb unknowing look on my face and said "It's Browny".  Brought joy to my heart to see and talk with him again.  Thankful that I at least had the one time after high school to see him again.  Brings a tear to my eye now.  Miss ya Browny.

Bob became quite the golfer after football. I visted Bob in SD a number of times, some to just visit and others to play golf. I will miss the big guy.
